Suspense.... Then Bam! Really?!

So three weeks ago Wednesday I turned my papers in. The secretary of the stake presidency said that it should take two to three weeks but probably three cuz of the day I turned them up. Well a week passed and I was straight trippin because I wanted my call immediately. I had like fifty dreams the whole first week and I was going insane waiting. Then last Tuesday my dad was talking to my Bishop and he told him he had looked online and saw that my papers had been sent from Salt Lake. Well they almost always send calls to the mail place on a Fridays. So he made an educated guess from experience from previous missionaries he has sent out and told my father it would be here on Thursday and my pops told me. So Wednesday couldn't go through fast enough and I was again freaking out having to wait. So Thursday finally came but I had work... When eleven came I told my sister to check the mail for me and she responded with a depressing no it had not. By this time I was in a very sad. I got over it pretty quick and told my self it would come the next day. On Thursday night I had a dream that I walked out to check the mail box at the same time the mail man drove up. He asked me if I was Elder Tyler Pete Arnett. I said why yes I am and he handed me a large envelope. I was so excited and ran inside to open it. Just as I pulled the paper out I awoke from that lovely dream to my sister needing me to take her to school. I thought after that dream it had to come today. So I took her to school and went home and kinda chilled till about nine thirty then I went out and checked the mail... nothing yet. Then I went inside my home and went to my bed and opened my blinds which have a view of the street so I could see the mail man come. I started to get tired so I decided to take a little nap till eleven and then I would go check. I fell asleep and then maybe ten minutes later my sister came into my room saying Look what came! I was sooo excited until I realized I couldn't even open it to at least later in the day but I wasn't too bummed. I figured out a good time of when I could open it when friends and some family could come watch which was late enough for high school kids to come but not to late for me to go on my camp out with the priests. I decided to open it at three fifteen and let me tell ya it could not come soon enough. Friends and family started to arrive at about two fifty and thats when I started to get nervous. Every time I looked at the map and saw all the guesses from people I kept thinking New Zealand or Japan. I honestly thought I would go to one of those two places. I really wanted to go foreign and learn a language. So when everyone got to my house by three twenty I started to open. My face got all hot and everyone was watching and waiting in anticipation. I started to read and as I started my eyes jumped straight to it but I didn't say it out loud. As I read aloud the Dear Elder Arnett, I kept thinking "really?! Thats where I'm going?!" the one state I told myself I did not want to go. Then when I got to it I read out loud The California Sacramento Mission and Immediately when those words came from my mouth and everyone started to cheer I felt the spirit come over me and I knew that is where the Lord wants me to go. I hadn't even thought about Sacramento. I always said oh it would suck to go to Cali cuz of the beach and the people there but as I started thinking about Sacramento and I realized how inland it was and how different it would be than the coast and I started getting excited. As everyone cheered I kept thinking ok shut up now I want to see if I would get the second thing I wanted... a foreign language. Once everyone quieted down I kept reading and it said I should anticipate to preach the gospel in the English language... really?... English. State Side and English... but then when I started thinking about it more i realized how much a blessing it will be. I will only be in the MTC for three to four weeks which will give me a whole lot more time out in the field to experience real missionary life... but there was a third thing I wanted out of my Mission Call as well. To leave as soon as possible. I kept reading and as I read you should report to the Provo MTC on May 12th... I started getting real excited! May 12th! Then I realized it was March 12th that day... I have two months! Since I report so much earlier than most my friends and i'm not learning a language I probably won't see most of them in the MTC which will be a bit of a bummer but I know i'll make new awesome friends. I'm excited. I am counting down the days. 58... Dang that's close. Its funny cuz you think you know what you want, but then something like this happens and you realize the Lord knows you better than you do yourself. I never once thought about the blessings going to Sacramento and speaking English can be for me. I am so excited to go and I have talked to a couple of people who have lived there and am getting more and more excited the more I hear. I am sooo thankful for a Savior who loves me and knows me so well. Getting my mission call has strengthened my testimony so much.

Those who read this ROCK!

Yes, I do like to swing with Pandas...

Ok. So it is eight in the morning and I am currently eating an ice cream sandwich from dairy queen. Why you might ask am I eating an ice cream sandwich from dairy queen at eight in the morning? Because I just starved for the whole fricken weekend so I could PWN at my final weigh in. And I think I did. I know for a fact already that I did not win first place. Thats kinda bummer. But if things go how i speculate they will I will be in the top five which was my initial goal from the beginning. Even though in the contest I didn't win, personally I did. I weighed in at 229.2 which is 40.4 lbs. from my starting weight of 269.6... Yeah I know I was fat. That is 14.98%. Which is huge! I haven't been in the 220's since Junior Year! I am so happy with myself and now that I have a start it will be easier to continue.

Also other exciting news... my mission papers are officially in Salt Lake as of last Wednesday. So it should be about two weeks from this Thursday till I get my call. I am excited. I want to go somewhere awesome and foreign but I have a feeling I'm going somewhere in the States. But really it don't care where I go because wherever it is, it is for me. It's my mission and I am meant to go there. So I'm probably not going to make a group on the book saying "WHERE WILL TYLER GO". I think those are dumb. If you want to guess thats cool. If not, I'm not going to freak out...

Anyways so my last post was all about almost going to Six Flags and being scared that it was going to rain and freaking out over nothing. Well guess what?! I did go to Six Flags and it did not rain and it was AWESOME! The trip was amazing. I might have not slept at all for eight hours then walked around a park with creeper batmans all day then drove another two hours not sleeping because of the poor quality of roads California has then going to go to church without the girls because Christiaan was too scared to wake them up then strip down to my underwear and run into the freezing cold ocean on a Sunday then drive home another forever with no sleep and then yell and my best friends because a couple of girls were trying to piss me and Lucas off and then get home and gain a pound for my next weight and be bummed out and have to work harder the next week but the good things about the trip made it all worth it. Spending eight hours talking and getting to know six of my best friends then eating ihop for breakfast with six of my best friends then spending an amazing fun day at six flags with six of my best friends even though it was tiresome then driving another two hours and hearing Chloe freak out every time there was a big crack in the road then going to church without the girls being dead tired and wishing I was asleep but then realizing that Mitt Romney's wife Anne was speaking at the ward then meeting Mitt himself after church then driving three hours to eat with Lucas' sisters family for a delicious dinner then driving another three hours home with six of my best friends listening to Alex's wonderful laugh then yelling because the girls didn't want to listen to church music. It was awesome. It was so much fun I want to do it again. Maybe with a little more sleep. It was tremendous.

Well thats all for this post. I really like this whole blogging thing. Since the two people I told everything to aren't in a convenient location anymore this is great alternative.

Oh and BTW my life rocks...

That which we do not try, we will never do.

Excitement...

Ok so right about now I am getting way fricken excited!
I'm going to Six Flags
Magic Mountain on Saturday!
with seven awesome friends. We have every little detail planned out and this trip is going to be amazing! but... the weather forecast for Saturday currently says
Occasional showers possible.
I copied and pasted that straight from weather.com. If it rains and the park is closed I might go on an outrage and beat up a child. Ok maybe not but still. I have never been to six flags and I really really want to go. But yeah I'll get over it. Anyways this whole blogging thing is awesome because I can just sit and write about the random stuff in my life and I love doing that so yeah. My Biggest Losers competition is going good still. I have two weeks left and I'm still in second place but I'm right behind first place. I've lost 35.2 pounds which is 13.05% weight loss. I've still got 15 pounds more to lose to reach my goal but I believe I can do it and if I reach I don't know how I could lose the contest. Everything is going good in life. Live long and prosper.

New Approach

Ok. So I think i'm just going to go into this whole blogging thing different. I think i'm just going to blog like a normal blogger. Writing a story is dumb. I'm just going to post whats happening in my life and maybe tell a few random true or false stories. I'll let ya'll decide what you think it is.

Ok so here is what has been going on in my life so far.

I am currently in a biggest losers competition with my cousins and some of their friends. It cost twenty dollars to enter and the winner gets 30% of the pot second gets 25% third 20% fourth 15% and fifth 10%. There are about forty people in it and i started off way good. I weighed in at a fat 269 lbs and I lost 16 lbs the first week! Since then I haven't gone below sixth place in the contest. I am down to 238 which is 31 lbs lost! I'm in second place and I've never felt better. My goal is 50 pounds and to be in the top five so I can win some cash!!! I think if I keep up what I'm doing and eat a little better I'll be able to reach my goal. So that is going pretty awesome for me. It's the best!

Also, for the past week I have been working on my mission papers. Today I have a doctor appointment and its the last thing I have to do to submit them to my bishop! Its so close and I'm getting way excited! Its been hard seeing my two best friends Andrew and Hudson leave but so far a few people have filled the void pretty well. It's Fantastic!

My life is good... Real good!

Chapter Five- My Old Ways

Everyday my heart breaks a little bit more. The more I see Kyra with Jearshon the more it hurts. I give him more tasks than usual so they spend as little time together as possible. I don't talk to Jearshon anymore. Its easier to not kill him that way. She loves him. I know she does. We don't talk much anymore either. Its too awkward. She knows I feel more than just friendship towards her. We have made it a fourth of the way to where the he lives. I'm getting anxious. I want to be on my own again. Its a race. Its of up most importance that we reach him before his messangers. Surprising him is paramount. We have been off Mount Sarton for a while now. Our journey is starting to get dangerous. He has a lot of loyal friends who are constantly trying to protect him. I kill everyday. Its so routine. I almost enjoy it. No one we come in contact with is close to my skill level in fighting. It numbs my emotions. I cry less when I kill. The other day we lost someone. I wasn't too fond of him but I took the responsibilty of burying him. Arrow through the temple. Instant death. Thats not how I want to go. I like physical pain. Each day is getting more dangerous. We are moving at a very fast pace. We sleep in houses. I threaten villagers to give up their houses for the night. They submit with little protest. I assign people to which house they sleep in. We use as few houses as possible. Kyra and Jearshon never sleep in the same house and one always sleeps in the same house as me. It annoys them but they can't do anything about it. They're scared of me. I get more and more angry everyday. Everyone is scared of me. I break things. I kill non threatening people. Its the only way to numb the pain. Tonight Kyra is sleeping in the same house as me. Jearshon is sleeping with a village family. Early in the morning we prepare to depart. Head counts are necessary multiple times a day. One is missing. I see Kyra looking around for someone. Jearshon is no where to be found. I send a group to go get him from the house he was sleeping in. He tries my patience every time he has a chance to. I could have expected him to be late. The group comes back. He's not there. I go to the house to interrogate the family of Jearshons where abouts. Kyra comes along. They act nervous in my presence. Thats natural. Most people do. They are more nervous and fidgety than usual. I get suspicious. I ask them where Jearshon is. They said he left in the middle of the night to meet the girl. Thats a lie. I slept in front of the door of the house Kyra and I were sleeping in. No one came in. No one went out. I tell them I know they killed him. I pull my sword from my sheath. I hear a few whimpers. I tell them if they don't admit to committing the murder I'll kill them. They tell me how they killed him. They poisened him so he'd sleep through anything. The minute his head hit the pillow they slit his throat. I am angry. Jearshon was a good friend and an even better fighter. I look at Kyra. She is distraught. I see the look on her face. She expects me to kill them. I look her in the eyes for a long minute. Neither of us blink. I shake my head and walk out of the house. I get on my horse and ride away leaving Kyra to cry alone.

Chapter Four- My Lost Love

Girls couldn't keep Kyra warm enough at night. As much as I hated the idea of her sleeping with another man, it was the only option. I chose who she would sleep with. Jearshon has been my best friend since Chaysin died. He knows I love her. He would only do what was absolutely necessary to keep her warm, safe, and alive. Nothing more. Or so i thought. We started our descent from the summit a couple of weaks back. Its not cold anymore. Its actually warm enough to sleep without bedding at night. Sleeping in couples is no longer needed. Most people have gone back to sleeping alone. Jearshon and Kyra are still sleeping together. The way he looks at her has changed. He plays games with her and teases her. I can't stand it. The worst part is the way she now looks at him. She teases him back and goes along with his games. I'm very observant and I'm not stupid. I can see whats going to happen if I don't stop it. Kyra can sense the tense feelings between me and Jearshon whenever shes around. She has seen me watching them with a look of disgust sweeping across my face. Her intuition senses whats going to happen soon. One night when were relaxing around the fire. She approaches me. She makes small conversion to make things less awkward. Then she starts on what she really came to talk to me about. She tells me she knows I don't like whats going on between her and Jearshon. She thinks I'm going to physically harm him. The old me would. I've changed. I told her I won't hurt him and I'm not planning to. Its his decision if hes going to get hurt or not. I let a couple of days pass so things can settle down a bit. One day when we are taking a water break I pull Jearshon away from everyone for a second. I see the look of horror on his face. He knew there would be a consequence. I start off telling him I'm not planning on hurting him. He calms down a bit. I ask him what he is doing. What his intentions with Kyra are. He tells me he has fallen in love with her and he is pretty sure she has fallen for him as well. I feel my heart tear a little. He says he only moved in because he thought that my feelings had changed towards her. He thought thay if I could physically hurt her there is no way I could feel the same way about her. I tell him about my dream. He gets a panicked look on his face. If I force him to tell her he can't be with her she will be crushed and my chances with her would be slim to none. If I leave it alone and let the fire between them get out of control I'll never have a chance. Then I would have nothing to fight for. This whole journey would have been a waste of time and a waste of lost lives. I know the only thing I can do is leave it. If she isn't happy I'm not happy. If I'm not happy I'll start with my old ways again. I tell him that if he breaks her heart I'll kill him. He looks at me with a look of relief and gratitude. I tell him to leave me. I think about crying. I want to but that won't get me anywhere. I gather my emotions and join the group again. We move on. Kyra joins Jearshon on his horse. A tear slips for my eye. I wipe it away. No one notices.

Chapter Three- My biggest Regret

The mountain peak seems like it goes on forever. Its freezing cold. We make camp every night before the sun goes down so that we have a fire and blankets ready. With out fire we would all be dead. There is no such thing as a hot meal. As soon as it leaves the fire it gets cold. During the day everyone is frozen from head to toe. The only thing that keeps us from freezing is walking. We killed the horses a long time ago. Their meat will stay good in this extreme cold. Everyone has a partner they have to hug all night to keep warm. I chose Kyra. Not just because I love her but I need to keep her safe. With out her there is no point. We are in our sleeping bundles three hours after sunset. Tonight has to be the coldest night yet. Kyra falls asleep quickly in my arms. This journey is taking a large toll on her. It kills me to see her struggle. It takes me longer to fall asleep. I have so much to think about. I finally fall asleep. I dream I'm there. In front of Him. Sword drawn. He is unarmed but that doesn't last long. He reaches behind the wall and pulls out a large sword. We fight evenly matched for hours. Finally we've both lost our swords. I've wounded his leg. He falls to floor and I jump on him unsheathing my dagger in the process. This is it. The moment I have been waiting for. I slide my dagger across his throat. Not deep enough to kill him. I want to see him suffer in pain. I awake to her scream. I'm on top of Kyra. She has a small gash in her throat. How could I do this? How could I hurt her? I love her. She is forgiving. She awoke from my yelling and screaming. She knew I was dreaming. She didn't dare leave me for fear of freezing. I will never forgive myself. I won't sleep the rest of the journey. The whole camp is awake. Everyone is looking at me in unbelief. They see how much I care for and protect her. They can't believe I was capable of hurting her. I'm a threat to everyone I'm around. Kyra will need to sleep with someone else. A girl of course. I will sleep alone and away from the group. I can't put anyone in danger. I can't put Kyra in any danger.
